Posted On: 05/28/2026 WORSE PLACE EVER DO NOT GO HERE. I did my Invisalign treatments here. The dentist comes in she never looks in your mouth to see your improvement she just tells u ok come
Back in 4 weeks she never talk you through the process. Every time I’ll have to go back in because an attachment will fall
Off or a button comes out. Only time it will ever stay on is if the dental hygienist Cos puts it on. I’m almost to the end and the space in my teeth is not fully close and they are ready to give me retainers. I called for 3 weeks to let them know that the space is still there no one called back. Another cosmetic procedure instead of giving me one more set of Invisalign. I am so upset that I ever did my Invisalign there. Now I’m stuck having to find a new place to continue or to start over . The only good about this place is Cos the dental hygienist and Sonia front desk staff. Every other thing about this location sucks! DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Also you can never get through to the office the call

Posted On: 08/21/2025 I like the facility because it’s clean, the staff is courteous, and I’m usually in and out when scheduling is done correctly. I have been going here for the past three years. I had my Invisalign work here and now I take my children (2yrs,6yrs,10yrs old) to get their annual cleaning and soon braces. All the dentist are friendly and willing to answer any questions. I’ve had my little issues with the staffing especially the front desk with scheduling but overall I would and have recommended this facility. Kevonne B

Posted On: 07/29/2025 Back in the day, I would have given this office 5 stars hands down. But now that the former manager is not running the front desk, the place has gone downhill. The young lady who sits closest to the door is always nice and as helpful as can be even when faced with inconsiderate people. The 2 assistants that have been there for as long as I can remember are still absolutely amazing. Lastly, the main doctor there got me through my 2 implants with 0 amount of trauma. But until some staff changes are made, I will not be returning. Sir H

Posted On: 07/28/2025 This office LIED about submitting authorization for my daughter’s insurance to cover her braces. I recorded the entire call and was told it was submitted on the 8th which is a week after she was seen in the office. I called everyday and even spoke with a manager after my concerns about my son’s filling wasn’t addressed appropriately.

I spoke with a manager who assured me that my daughters braces visit and my sons crowns visit with filling was scheduled for today. Today comes and I called to verify what is being done and was told fillings only.

I am about to have surgery to assess for CANCER. I’ve been going back and forth for MONTHS and was blatantly lied to today. Alarming is an understatement. The manager of this office told me my daughter’s pre authorization was sent to insurance on the 8th and I called my insurance and was told NOTHING was submitted. What is wrong with you people?! My children need dental care and this is alarming. I will be filing a formal complaint for this office to be investigated

7/29 Please don’t bother continuing to lie. You all submitted pre auths for their cleaning on 6/30 just fine. Make it make sense as to why you’re lying about the braces and crowns pre authorization being submitted on 6/30 and 7/8. You clearly know how to do it and it was NOT done. Cynthia M

Posted On: 07/23/2025 I have been to more than one of NY Family Dentistry affiliated offices in the Canarsie area so this review is not based on a one time visit.

First of all the impression I received was that for every visit they were after my pocketbook. The dentist who saw me never spoke a word to me but quickly examined my mouth in less than two minutes and left the room. Another lady came in and would not answer my questions about the diagnosis she was giving me but was telling me it would cost $5,000 to fix the gingivitis which to this day I don't think I have because I've never addressed it and have never lost a tooth in my mouth and I'm over 65 years of age.

Secondly, I noticed that the equipment on the tray they use to examine the patients mouth were all rusted. My daughter who visited all 5 locations told me that she's never seen them open anything out of a package. She also said the dentist at one of the locations she visited dropped the instrument twice on the floor and just wiped it off and continued using it in her mouth (mind you this was during the Pandemic). There is much more that could be said but I'm running out of writing space.

I would recommend you think twice before visiting any of the 5 affiliated locations of NY Family Dentistry in Canarsie. If you are concerned about getting quality and honest dental service please do your homework before visiting one of these 5 NY Family Dentistry affiliated locations in Canarsie.

UPDATE: (8/11/2025) - The purpose of this review was not in hopes to receive a response. I've already received a response from your office and it was very shocking at the way my issue was handled. This review was written with the intent to make others aware of the situation that exists at NY Family Dentistry and its associations. Please know you will not be seeing me again at any of the Family Dentistry locations. I have already moved on. Daughter Of The K

Posted On: 06/07/2025 I made an appointment for my daughter about 2 months ago for her to have a filling. I arrived today for her appointment and they informed me that there’s no pediatric doctor there for fillings; meanwhile my daughter is experiencing tooth pain. I received no update no phone about their being no doctor for fillings today, meanwhile I confirmed via texted MULTIPLE TIMES for today’s appointment. The young lady Daisy G. proceeded to tell me my daughter’s appointment is July 17th. I replied my daughter needs to see someone today on top of that why wasn’t I informed. This was a HUGE inconvenience because I took a cab from home, wasted my money in which I will not be reimbursed. There were three women including Daisy at the front desk and none of them had remorse or the proper hospitality to deal with this situation. There was no my apologies for the inconvenience; none of that; just blank faces. Daisy proceeded to tell me she can check the other office on flatlands in which the Dr that’s there is a GENERAL dentist not a PEDIATRIC dentist. My daughter got an appointment there but I had to take another cab there smh.

MORAL TO THE STORY: UPDATE YOUR PATIENTS FAR IN ADVANCE, SOMEONE SHOULD BE GOING THRU THAT PATIENT LIST THE DAY BEFORE TO MAKE SURE THOSE APPOINTMENTS WILL BE PROPERLY ATTENDED TOO ‼️ Blessing Q

When a doctor makes you feel worried or anxious in a way that seems exaggerated or unnecessary, and then recommends expensive out-of-pocket procedures, it could be a form of medical manipulation or even exploitation.This behavior is sometimes called:

Upselling: Convincing you to pay for procedures or tests that may not be essential.

Fear-based tactics: Using fear to push you into agreeing to services quickly.

Unethical practice: Prioritizing profit over your actual health needs.

This can be especially concerning if:

The doctor doesn't clearly explain why the procedure is needed.

You’re pressured to act immediately without getting a second opinion.

They don’t offer covered alternatives through your insurance.

In those cases, it’s wise to:

1. Ask questions – about the urgency, risks, and alternatives.

2. Request documentation – of the diagnosis and treatment plan.

3. Get a second opinion – from another provider or your primary care doctor.
